የፌዴራል ጠቅላይ ፍርድ ቤት የኮቪድ-19 ወረርሽኝ በሃገራችንም ሆነ በዓለም አቀፍ ደረጃ በቅርብ ጊዜ መፍትሔ እንደማይኖረው ከግምት ውስጥ በማስገባት የፌዴራል ፍርድ ቤቶች ወርሽኙን በመከላከል መደበኛ አገልግሎታቸውን መስጠት የሚችሉበትን ሁኔታ ለማመቻቸት እየሰራ ይገኛል፡፡ ጠቅላይ ፍርድ ቤቱ በሃገራችን የኮቪድ 19 ወርሽኝን ስርጭት ለመግታትና ለመከላከል የሚደረገውን ጥረት ለማገዝ ፍርድ ቤቶች ከመጋቢት 10 ቀን 2012 ዓ.ም በከፊል ዝግ ሆነው አስቸኳይነት ያላቸው ጉዳዮች ብቻ በተረኛ ችሎት እንዲያስተናግዱ እስከ ሐምሌ 10 ቀን 2012 ዓ.ም መወሰኑ ይታወቃል፡፡ ነገር ግን ፍርድ ቤቶች ዜጎች በህግ አግባብ ፍትህ የሚያገኙበት ተቋማት እንደመሆናቸው ለረጅም ጊዜ በከፊል ዝግ ሆነው መቆየት እንደሌለባቸው የፌዴራል ጠቅላይ ፍርድ ቤት በጽኑ ይገነዘባል፡፡ በመሆኑም ጠቅላይ ፍ/ቤቱ በኮቪድ 19 ዘመን ወረርሽኙን በመከላከል ዜጎች ፍትህ በሚጠይቁባቸው ጉዳዮች ላይ ፍርድ ቤቶች መደበኛ አገልግሎ መስጠት የሚያስችላቸውን ወጥ አሰራር ለመዘርጋት የሚመሩበት ረቂቅ መመሪያ እየተዘጋጀ መሆኑን ጠቁሟል፡፡ የረቂቅ መመሪያው ዝግጅት ሲጠናቀቅም የህግ ባለሙያዎችና ባለድርሻ አካላት ግብአት እንዲሰጡበት ከተደረገ በኋላ ስራ ላይ እንዲውል ይደረጋል ብሏል፡፡ ጠቅላይ ፍርድ ቤቱ ከሐምሌ 10 ቀን 2019 ዓ.ም ጀምሮ ተግባራዊ የሚሆን “በኮሮና ቫይረስ (COVID 19) ምክንያት የተከሰተውን ሀገራዊ ሁኔታ አስመልክቶ ፍርድ ቤቶች ሊመሩበት የሚገባ አጠቃላይ መመሪያ (Comprehensive Guideline)” አውጥቷል እየተባለ የሚሰራጨው መረጃም ትክክል አለመሆኑን ገልጿል፡፡

The outfits hanging along the wall are simple: a long dress, a purple shawl, a checkered T-shirt. Most are also quite small because the girls who were raped while wearing them were all in their teens at the time – some as young as 12.

The exhibition “What She Wore” at the Addis Ababa Museum in Ethiopia’s capital is an attempt to tackle the taboo topic of rape and sexual harassment in this deeply traditional society and counter the widely held notion that a woman’s clothing invites assault. 

The girls’ stories hang next to their empty clothes. Meklit, 16, a domestic worker, was raped while she was asleep. Rahel, 12, was raped while running an errand and then told by her uncle it was her fault. Bethlehem, 16, was raped at work by her boss’s brother and accused by her colleagues of seducing a family man.
